The University Grants Commission (UGC) on August 10, 2026, invite Comments/Suggestions from stakeholders on the Draft Guidelines and Curriculum Framework on Mission LiFE at the Undergraduate level.
Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment), initiated by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) to promote sustainable and mindful lifestyles, was launched by the Prime Minister on October 20, 2022. MoEFCC has requested the Ministry of Education to institutionalise Mission LiFE in higher education through a credit-based undergraduate course, pursuant to which UGC constituted an Expert Committee to prepare Guidelines/Curriculum Framework and develop a SWAYAM MOOC on the subject.
A 2-Credit, 10-week MOOC on Mission LiFE, developed by the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal, has now been launched on the SWAYAM platform and is open for learner registration. The course runs from 21 August 2026 to 30 October 2026, with registration closing on 31 August 2026. Students/learners can register at: https://onlinecourses.swayam2.ac.in/elearning/preview/ugc26_ge19
Separately, based on the UGC Expert Committee's recommendations, the Draft Guidelines and Curriculum Framework on Mission LiFE at the Undergraduate Level has been prepared and uploaded on the UGC website (Annexure-I) for stakeholder feedback — including from HEIs, faculty, subject experts, students, industry representatives, and regulatory bodies. Comments/suggestions must be submitted within two weeks of the Public Notice via the online Google Form: https://forms.gle/yKRyVCPcirvTZXQr8
All feedback received within the stipulated period will be examined by the UGC Expert Committee before finalizing the Guidelines and Curriculum Framework on Mission LiFE at the undergraduate level.
